Everyone

has left and now I am home alone in my flat.I'm really behind blogging at the moment due to the amount of work I have but I'll try to keep uptodate. A few weeks ago I went home to see my family and to go to the Liverpool Biennial. The Biennial is a collection of works by different artists scattered around Liverpool, it only happens every two years so it entirely worth going to see. It was also the week where people celebrated John Lennons 70th birthday and a statue was revealed to commiserate it. I'm going London again this weekend but with my incredibly low budget I won't be able to get anything on my wishlist.

London...

and once again, Portobello Market (LOVE it there). I also did a few touristy things and I acted like I've never been London before. I voted on what I believe should be on the 4th plinth which was pretty cool.

Wishing...

my loan was bigger so I can purchase all of these.

(Topshop, River Island, All Saints. I'll look for prices at a later date)

On a different note my lovely Aran Knit jumper is finished.

(looking a bit of a goon but never mind)

Big love for Angie Babes for completing this.

Is it wrong

that I'd really like to purchase some purple Nike air tops? There's also a lovely lovely parka coat in River Island that I definitely need to buy. However, the slight problem being that student finance has given me 3 times the amount I asked for. So, I've accidently been spending money I actually don't have. It's a must buy though as it is gorgeous. I've also realised, after talking to a friend who can cook carribean food, that I should probably start cooking and eating properly as I have probably put on about 50 stone. It seems like the more I am determind not to spend any more money, the more I need to buy essentials. Like a £50 psychology book I apparently need to buy (with the Antony Gormley figures on the front!- my mum and brother made some to contribute yeeears ago). The main thing I've been buying is a lot of stuff to make me feel better, I went a foam party days ago and I totally blame that for my illness. I now have a drawer full of different tablets and medicines that can probably supply me for a year. Living away from home has also reinforced my knowledge that I am completely incapable of keeping my room tidy. I do try but its quite obviously a lost cause. On a different note, I managed to dye my hair (it had NO effect) without damaging my braid but caught my nose ring. NOT fun.

Freshers

Love love LOVE my uni room. A fair bit of storage, wooden flooring and an en suite! I'm living at the city campus (literally two minutes away from the clubs) but 20-30 minute walk away from the main campus and the SU bar but I reckon that's an advantage cause I'm near all the shops. I share flat 6 (the best one obviously) with 5 cool people who are easy to talk to. I arrived on Saturday and as I began to unpack all my stuff I realised all the food I bought back home hasn't been brought down to Worcester. So my mum and dad took me shopping and buy loads and loads of food hoping it will last for ages, even getting food I don't eat at home but should last a long time. I didn't really think of things I take for granted back home (i.e a shower mat, pins, knives) so I had to nip into the city centre, which is basically a big circle so you can't really get lost, and find the cheapest shop to buy them from as my student loan still hasn't come through! Fresher's weeks been pretty ace although I haven't actually been the main events due to walking there and back. So I've attended the pre and after parties because theyre really close and this wristband I've bought has gotten me in for free. It's been so busy in the day as well, we were given a 'Welcome Week' pack which tells us what we're expected to do each day of Fresher's. It involves stuff like meeting your tutors, inductions and trips to do with your chosen subject(s), because I'm doing a Joint course it's been mega hectic walking from one campus to another none stop. It's even more frustrating that they all start at 9:15am or 10:15am (and a particular trip starting at 7:45am!) as it means you get noooo sleep at all.

I'm looking forward to knowing my way around without getting lost.

Finally

managed to get hold of one of these...

(my jaw seems so square)
an air force jumper which I have wanted for ages. The only person who knew where to get one was my dad as he owns a green army one from his so called 'fashionable days' (the days where he had long feathered and layered hair, wore cowboy boots, ponchos etc :|) He said he had bought them from an army shop, but I couldn't find any at all. So after a couple of years of wanting one, my mum points out that my dad also has the navy air force jumper. So I state to my dad that he never wears it and I've looked everywhere for one. Leading him to donate it to me :) It's not the most flattering of garments as it is massive, but still its really comfy and I've figured it'd look alright with a belt or something.

You are

100% sure that England is mundane when Epcot symbolises the U.K by using a red postbox, a pub and a 'Twinings Tea' cottage. Then you walk around imitations of Japan, Morroco, China, Mexico etc which all consist of impressive buildings, restaurants and the occassional ride. I know this because I've just arrived home from a two week holiday in Florida. A completely different holiday to what I'm used to but still amazing (I dove with sharks! in a rather claustraphobic mask and a scuba suit that took agggges to put on) Uni in two weeks! Ahhh...

Camera is fixed :) So I decided to take a few photos to test it out. Even though I should really keep doing my journal uni has 'suggested' to do.

"Do not try and bend the spoon. That's impossible. Instead... only try to realise the truth.

There is no spoon."
Re watched The Matrix trilogy and as geeky as it is, it's always a winner.

Simplicity.

Blue Planet Aquarium. Taken on a borrowed compact camera due to the death of my own.

Black cat found

and apparently it's never going to go home.

(both images taken on camera phone, and quite obviously the day my hair was due for a wash. Nicknamed Halle.)

After years, literally, of persuading my mum to knit an aran cable jumper/cardigan for me she's finally contemplating the idea. I am aware it's summer, but I really would like one for autumn/winter. I've tried looking for one in the past that doesn't involve me spending all of my money and came across a fairly good one in a charity shop. It was in the men's section and is massive. Although I do love wearing it.

(AGAIN, taken on a camera phone. My camera shall be fixed soon as it was taken in today :) )

Here are some that caught my eye:

I adore the colour of this Prada jumper, although I feel the overall jumper seems heavy and may seem unflattering even on a slimmer frame. I've also found some on a less pricey scale and of more neutral tones.

Topshop £48.00Next £35.00 (also available in fuschia)
All Saints £105.00

Debenhams (male) was £95.00 now £28.50
very.com £35.00

I prefer the cable knit cardigans but my favourtie from the above selection is the Topshop jumper. All I have to do now is pick out a pattern :)

Off the subject...
Christian Louboutin, Ronfifi
I am in love with these boots! MAJOR wishful thinking.

3 covers with the same dress?...

..how awkward.

Back from Jersey and I so wish I wasn't. I probably would never have gone there if it wasn't for the wedding in the castle. After the wedding we decided to do the usual touristy things (i.e making most of the sunshine and getting sunburnt, going the war tunnels which the germans had people make in ww2) but due to lack of time we only stayed in St. Helier. Whilst waiting for my luggage I caught sight of a poster advertising a museum. Yeah, true it doesn't sou
nd that enthralling but I found out it was literally next door to our hotel so decided to go. It had quite mundane stuff about people of Jersey ,who I have never heard of, but the part that interested me the most was the Marilyn Monroe exhibition (there was also this victorian house on which they had extended the museum. They had barely touched anything in it, which was kind of weird as there were all these old photos and paintings of the people who lived there. It contained three or four floors and multiple rooms. It basically looked like the house in 'The Others', was kind of eery) Anyway, this Monroe thing consisted of many of her clothes and gifts she had been given. She WASN'T a size 16 but was naturally a red head. I found it all fascinating, yet a little weird that one super male fan had donated all the stuff. Anyway, here are some photos (taken on my weak camera phone as my brother went home on the sunday and he provided the camera)

First image of me and my brother at the wedding. Second of a Nazi uniform exhibited in the underground tunnels/hospital.

Clothes from 'Gentlemen prefer blondes' 'Some like it hot' 'Seven year itch' 'There's no business like show business' and 'Niagara'

<<< LOVE. <<< Looks like an All Saints dress.

" I always thought Marilyn Monroe looked fabulous, but I'd kill myself if I was that fat " - Liz Hurley, shut up.

Also, my last Brownies this week. Aww.

Well...

this is me being a huge hypocrite. I dislike blogs which contain information about a person, about what they did with their day and how tired they are. Which is exactly why I have no idea why I am doing this. I have very limited knowledge about fashion but I do like to pretend I know a fair bit about photography. I often wish I could be as creative as some of my friends and I lack the capability to correctly string a sentence together. I believe individuality is more about wearing what you actually want to wear and not trying to fit a label. I like the irony of trying to be cool, as it very often does not work. That is all.

In other news take me back to Portobello Market as I
THINK I prefer it to Camden.

Jersey tomorrow for a wedding, never been there so it should be good. However getting on the plane in a jumpsuit that looks like I should be the pilot. Never mind.
